Eastern Pyrenees Badge of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors

You will be picked up at Perpignan airport and taken to a specially selected hotel of at least 2 * quality about an hour's drive away in the mountainous Conflent. There you can relax and enjoy the pool.

Day one of your walking holiday starts with a relatively gentle day of discovery. We follow easy paths through woods, by lakes, and through the villages of the high Capcir. See photos of the Capcir here.

On the second day we take to the hills, venturing into the heart of the mountains of the Capcir, the Lake District of the Eastern Pyrenees. On the third day there will be an option to ascend one of the highest peaks in the area, with views across the Cerdagne to the east and Spain and Andorra to the south.

There follows a relatively short walk the next day but with an option to explore the impressive depths and giddy pathways of the Gorges de Carança. =>

After a night in the hotel we are off into the heart of the high Pyrenees, working our way round the side of the Canigou, the highest peak at the eastern end of the Pyrenees, (revered by the local Catalans) to spend the night in a well appointed mountain hut.

An early start sees us feasting on the panoramic views from the summit of the Canigou. We descend by an interesting route to another well equipped large mountain hut.

Our last walking day gets us back to the hotel for a well-deserved swim in the pool. The next morning is leisurely, and you will be taken back to the airport for your return flight, mentally reinvigorated, spiritually refreshed.
